No, I wasn’t targeted by Latin hackers

Earlier this afternoon I was updating my blog theme when I hit a wrong button and ended up publishing about 20 blog posts filled with lorem ipsum placeholder text on my blog by accident.

When I flipped back to my homepage a few minutes later and saw it filled with all these nice-looking gibberish blog posts, I realized my mistake, did a hard face-palm, then went back and deleted them from my published posts.

But, ladies and gentlemen, there is no escaping the speed of the feed. As soon as I hit publish all these posts flew out to my unsuspecting RSS Feed subscribers, spamming their inboxes with pseudo-latin text.

Pretty soon I started getting Facebook messages and emails like, “There is something up with your blog,” and, “Did you get hacked?”

Sadly, no, my blog was not targeted by pseudo-latin hackers… I am just clumsy.

Thank you so much to the thoughtful readers who sent me messages to make sure I hadn’t been hacked, to let me know what was up, and to them and everyone else who now has 20 odd pieces of gibberish in their inbox.

As an apology to all of you: I am so sorry!

At least now you can have the satisfaction of mass-deleting 20 emails at once. How often do we get to do that, amirite?

Join me in deleting these gibberish emails. I’ll be over here, just picking up my dignity.

As an apology, here’s a fun lorem ipsum library, in case you too want to share fake latin with your readers. I’m a fan of Lorem fucking ipsum.

Thanks for putting up with me guys, and happy steeping. ☕️ ????
