Frozen in Labrador: A Visit to Muskrat Falls

January 16, 2014

Labrador Girl and Snowbeard. Here to save the day.

It was an unusually cold winter, even by Labrador standards. Too cold for snow to fall; so cold that on a five hour car ride with the heat blasting, from Goose Bay to the Straits, my window never defrosted.

Seeing Muskrat Falls, imagining how the Churchill Dam is going to be built in. According to some local gossip, the project is going to go ahead by, “pouring cement in 24/7, until it holds.” Then they shape the dam around that blockage. Apparently, or something like that. It’s actually made me quite intrigued as to how they’re actually going to build the dam.

    What do you think?
