A City in Perpetual Sunset: Dubrovnik

The afternoon shadows were long when we arrived in Dubrovnik. The orange rooftops of the Croatian city add to the continuous glow. Even during the day, the rustic stone walls and adobe colours lend an air of nostalgia to the town. Walking into it feels like walking into a dream, or getting a postcard from an old friend.

We swam in the ocean and rode the cable car to the top of the hillside to see the fading sun wash the Old Town and far-off Elaphiti Islands in antiqued hues of brass and orange umber. It will always be sunset here for me.
